Resizing you images are often needed for creating thumbnails, making you GIF animations the right size, creating an even mosaic etc..

To resize your images click on the “Settings” menu button, the double click on Resize (Under Effects).

A Dialog will pop up where you can enter the resize information.

Resize under settings menu

Both will resize the height and the width to the desired size

X(Y-auto) will resize the width and keep the ratio of the image the same

Y(X-auto) will resize the height and keep the ratio of the image the same

Resize Type
You can select the type of resizing you want to do with you images here.

*Bilinear: good for acurate resizing
*Nearest Pixel: fast, does not change any color data
*Bicubic Spline Interpolation: acurate but slow

You can experiment with other resize methods. Disable Averaging will force Image Converter to not average when resizing.

When setting transparency, the color is picked after the resizing. If you use nearest pixel, no extra color data will be added, making a clean transparent background. Have a play round with the other resizing options too.
